According to projections, around 70,000 passengers are expected to use public transport during the festivities, compared to the usual 40,000 on a typical Saturday. To accommodate this increase, extra day and night buses will operate on more than twenty routes throughout the province.

Additional Services on King’s Night (April 25–26)

To support attendance at events such as Heroes of Orange in Groningen and Knoalsternacht in Stadskanaal, bus services will run more frequently and for extended hours.

From Groningen Central Station, additional night services will run to destinations including:

  • Drachten

  • Emmen

  • Eelde

  • Surhuisterveen

  • Middelstum

  • Siddeburen

  • Winsum

Enhanced Bus Operations on King’s Day (April 26)

On King’s Day, buses will operate according to the Saturday timetable, with additional trips throughout the day and into the early hours of Sunday. These services are intended to facilitate travel to and from King’s Day events in the city, including the Kingsland Festival in the Stadspark.

Extra services will run until 02:00 to the following destinations:

  • Leek

  • Roden

  • Zuidlaren

  • Annen

  • Appingedam

  • Assen

  • Stadskanaal

  • Siddeburen

  • Drachten

  • Emmen

  • Surhuisterveen

Notable night bus lines include:

  • Line 404: Groningen – Marum – Drachten

  • Line 478: Groningen – Harkstede – Siddeburen
